İzmir Kentkart

Kentkart has been operating the ‘Contactless Smartcard Automatic Fare Collection
System’ in Izmir since the 15th of March, 1999. It has successfully integrated 2
Bus, 1 Ferry, 1 Metro Transportation Companies, and the Administration of the Izmir
International Fair into the system.
The population of Izmir is 3.5 million and there are 2.4 million Kentkart cards
used in the system everyday.
Kentkart, providing the transportation for the entire city, keeps track of all festivals,
opening ceremonies, and celebrations in the city. It has become a part of Izmir,
the Pearl of Aegean for 5000 years.
