Kentkart Smartcard Services
  Electronic Purse
In addition to transportation, Kentkart smart cards can be used for all payments made at trade fairs, vending machines, parking-lots, sports and social facilities, amusement parks, cinemas, stadiums and buffets and other similar venues by simply using Kentkart cards. As the system combines all payments in a single card, users are relieved of the burden of carrying multiple-cards.

  7/24 Kentkart (Smart Paper Ticket)
Kentkart has initiated the era of the 7/24 Kentkart Smart Paper Ticket, unlike regular paper tickets, this enables holders to ride as much as desired (ie: 3 or 5 rides). Smart Paper tickets are sold at authorized dealers.

  Credit Card Payment
Kentkart has provided another state of the art solution to its passengers by integration of a credit card reader on public transport buses. New residents or infrequent public transport users who may not yet have Kentkart cards can simply swipe their credit cards on public transport buses to pay their fare. Kentkart has been nominated to Best Transport Application at the 2007 Sesames award contest in Paris for this project.

Privately Operated Public transportation busses operating under control of Municipality in Canakkale have started to offer online PayPass credit card service following the use of regular ATM cards in 120 public transport buses.

  Transfer Applications
Kentkart’s time- or price-based transferring system between different types of public transport vehicles helps improve and guides city's vehicle and passenger traffic. It also enables economic and reasonable fare rates for passengers.

  Distance Based Fare Tariff Applications
With this system, passengers are charged based on the distance they travel. The Check-in/Check-out System allows passengers to pay only the distance they have travelled instead of a full travel fare and ensures citizens inexpensive transportation.

The Metropolitan Municipality has introduced CI/CO (check in check out) system based on pricing by distance on municipal public transportation buses. According to the new system, started in Izmit-Gebze-Darica line, people will pay only for the distance they travel.

Public Transportation Department of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to introduce new practices offering citizen’s comfortable, peaceful and affordable travel alternatives, providing a successful example for all of Turkey. By introducing the CI/CO system on municipal public transportation buses after the launch of Kentkart, the Public Transportation Department has begun the initial implementation at Terminal-Gebze-Darica line. With this system, passengers can pay for only the distance they travel, as opposed to a full line fare. Travelers will now pay only 2.00 TL from Korfez to Gebze travel while they used to pay 2.75 TL. 

  Credited Kentkart
The Credited Kentkart works as a relational card with a contracted Bank savings or credit card account. This system enables riders to forego card reloads at kiosk offices by purchasing the contactless card from the contracted bank branch offices and giving authorization to automatic loading (top-up) to the cards from the passengers’ savings or credit card accounts. Kentkart has thus offered new alternatives to card reloading at kiosk offices.

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has introduced “Credited Kentkart”, an e-purse that is a part of the City Payment System. Credited Kentkart, in partnership with Turkiye Is Bankasi, held a press conference at Seka Part Hotel last year. Kocaeli Mayor Ibrahim Karaosmanoglu made a speech at the meeting, saying that “This is the first e-purse and municipal payment application in Kocaeli and Turkey.
